Norwegian company Eitzen has successfully acquired B-Gas A/S, B-Gas NSG, B-Gas Pelagic, and their subsidiaries from Bergshav and its partners. The acquisition adds significant value to Eitzen's ambition of becoming a leading owner and operator of liquefied gas carriers, particularly in the coaster gas market. B-Gas owns and operates ten liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) vessels that primarily operate in the northwest European market.
In addition to these vessels, B-Gas also commercially manages three LPG carriers through time charters and commercial management. The company's operational and commercial headquarters are based in Hellerup, Denmark.
Axel Eitzen, the Executive Chairman of Eitzen, expressed satisfaction with the acquisition, highlighting the company's goal of strengthening its position in the liquefied gas carrier industry. He also pointed out the positive outlook for the LPG and petrochemical business in northwest Europe and identified synergies with Eitzen's chemical company, Christiania Shipping, which operates similar-sized vessels in the same geographical markets with the same clients.
Atle Bergshaven, Executive Chairman of Bergshav, also commented on the acquisition, stating that the timing of the sale of B-Gas aligns well with the current market conditions. He expressed confidence in Eitzen as the right buyer to take B-Gas to the next level and provide safe and efficient logistical solutions for its clients. Bergshav believes that Eitzen, along with the experienced team in Hellerup, will contribute to the growth of B-Gas in the future.
Andrew C. McPhail, CEO of B-Gas, emphasized that the acquisition by Eitzen will provide a solid platform for the company's continued growth in the LPG and petrochemical coaster market. The acquisition is expected to enhance B-Gas's capabilities and offerings to its clients in the industry.
