Baker Hughes and Wison Forge Partnership for Future FLNG and LNG Projects
Baker Hughes, a prominent energy technology company, and Wison (Nantong) Heavy Industry, an affiliate of Wison Offshore & Marine (WOM), have recently solidified their collaboration through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at exploring future offshore floating LNG (FLNG) and onshore LNG projects.
The MoU, signed on November 5, 2023, at the China International Import Conference (CIIC), marks a significant step in establishing a long-term relationship between the two entities. By formalizing a framework agreement, Baker Hughes and Wison intend to streamline business processes and standardize technical products, ensuring optimal solutions during project bids and execution while catering to market opportunities.
The partnership is expected to enhance collaboration efforts and support the global clean energy industry, fostering innovation and breakthroughs in the context of the ongoing global energy transition. Damien Nguyen, WOM's Chief Technology Officer, expressed optimism about the intensified collaboration, highlighting its potential to drive innovation and contribute to the advancement of the clean energy sector.
This recent agreement builds upon the preexisting partnership between Baker Hughes and WOM. The collaboration previously led to Baker Hughes securing two procurement contracts with WOM earlier in 2023, offering support for a floating LNG project and an onshore LNG project. As the two companies strengthen their collaboration, they aim to leverage their combined expertise to drive advancements in the FLNG and LNG sectors and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the global energy landscape.
